Pick the Rove Lab M1 if you want to be able to send it back: it has a 100-day trial. Pick Monvane if you want more seats and zip-off covers for less money, and you're sure about low seating, because Monvane only takes back unused sofas.

Price per seat is our arithmetic: $797 ÷ 2 and $599.99 ÷ 4. The 1.9 lb/ft³ is our conversion of 30 kg/m³.
Choose Rove Lab if
- You've never owned a low, all-foam couch and want a way out. The 100-day trial is the longest of any brand we cover.
- You care about published specs. Rove Lab lists seat height, size and carton weights; Monvane doesn't list overall size.
- You're carrying it up stairs. Each module comes in its own box, the heaviest at 43.4 lb.
Choose Monvane if
- You need seats for a family. Four Monvane seats cost less than two Rove Lab seats.
- You have pets or kids. Every Monvane cushion has a zip-off cover.
- You want a known foam density. Monvane is the only one of the two that publishes it.
The real trade-off: risk versus price
On Rove Lab, a wrong choice costs you $99. On Monvane, once you've sat on it, it likely can't go back unless it's defective, and even an unused return means paying freight. If you're unsure, do the two-minute seat-height test before you order either one.
